The objectives for which Lochaber Council on Alcohol were established are:-
• To provide a comprehensive and co-ordinated community service designed to meet the special needs of those affected by
alcohol and other drug related problems, and to promote the development of facilities as required, as an integral part of such a service:
• To increase public knowledge of the extent of alcohol and other drug abuse, its damaging effects on the individual, the family,
society and the economy, and to initiate and support action to combat the problem:
• To promote services and facilities, information, education, training and research in regard to the prevention, early diagnosis
and treatment of alcohol and other drug related problems without advocating or specifying any particular method of treatment. |
