About LCA
Lochaber Council on Alcohol is a voluntary organisation that was formed in 1984 to help combat
the many problems created by the immoderate use of alcohol within the Lochaber Area.
The organisation is concerned with all aspects of alcohol and drug use with particular regard
to the problems those substances can cause, not only to the users, but to their families. For
over two decades LCA has been continuingly working with clients who wish to be either
completely abstinent from alcohol/drugs or cut down and control their intake. The organisation
also continues to provide counselling to those who are affected or concerned by someone else’s
substance misuse.
Couselling sessions are conducted during the day as well as evenings, however, all sessions
should be made by appointment, either by telephone, email or by calling into the office and
speaking to the manager.
If you would like to obtain information about the effects of alcohol or drugs, the resources
within the centre are available to the public and can be utilised within opening hours.
